About us
Our Story
Coulee Creek was born from a deep love of two things: the beauty of handcrafted jewelry and the spirit of the American West. Founded by Melanie Luger in New Town, North Dakota, what started as a passion for designing one-of-a-kind turquoise jewelry blossomed into something much bigger — a full western boutique that celebrates every facet of fashion, from polished business attire to dusty boots and a whole lot of turquoise.
From the Heart of North Dakota
Melanie's journey into fashion wasn't just a business decision — it was a calling. Growing up surrounded by the wide-open landscapes of western North Dakota, she developed a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship, grit, and beauty that define western style. Her handmade turquoise jewelry became the foundation of Coulee Creek, and her eye for quality and authenticity has shaped every piece and every brand the boutique carries to this day.
As featured in Cowgirl Magazine and The Northern Queens of Western Fashion blog, Coulee Creek has become a destination for women who love fashion that tells a story.
Our Curation Philosophy
We have a simple rule at Coulee Creek: if we wouldn't wear it, we wouldn't sell it. Every item on our racks — from flowing Free People tops to hand-tooled Bed Stu boots, DL 1961 denim, DD Ranchwear, Roja by Ann Tobias, Tasha Polizzi, Old Gringo, and Matisse — has been hand-selected with care and intention. We work hard to find pieces that are as beautiful and unique as the women who wear them.
Two Locations, One Heart
We're proud to call North Dakota home, with two boutique locations to serve you:
- New Town, ND — Our original home, where it all began.
- Bismarck, ND — Bringing western couture to the heart of the state.
Whether you're stopping in for a visit or shopping from wherever the trail takes you, we're so glad you're here. Come find your next favorite piece — we can't wait to meet you.
Happy shopping, from our family to yours. 🤠
